Before you begin, make a backup. Enabling Developer Mode erases the tablet. Check that your saved copies open. This mode also weakens software security.

On the home screen, open the menu at the top left. Then tap Settings at the bottom of the sidebar.

In General, tap Software, beside your version number. On some versions, open the Paper Tablet group first.

Turn on the Advanced switch.

Then tap Developer mode. Leave the other options unchanged.

Stop and read the warning. Continue only when your backup is safe. Follow the confirmation prompts on your own tablet, including your passcode if asked. Then confirm the factory reset.

The tablet will restart. Wait, then finish the setup steps on the tablet. The Developer Mode notice at startup is expected.

Now connect a USB data cable and open InkDraft on your computer. If the app asks for your tablet password, find it in Help, under Copyrights and licenses.
